Мне безумно приятно, что есть сериалы, на которые не стыдно потратить время. Потому что они не столько разгружают мозги, сколько, наоборот, заставляют их работать быстрее. И именно этот критерий помог мне выделить новый сериал оскароносного сценариста Аарона Соркина The Newsroom среди всех прочих. Соркин, кстати, тоже делал сериалы в 90-е. Ходят слухи, что именно благодаря его знаменитому «Западному крылу» многие молодые люди решили делать карьеру на политическом поприще. Соркин отвращает критиков ровно тем же, чем и вдохновляет зрителей. Он слишком идеализирует. Вместе с новым продюсером, приходит еще один новый сотрудник, новые идеалы, а вместе с этим всем и Новая Эра.

Не могу не упомянуть великолепную заставку сериала. Обычно я смотрю их только раз-два в самом начале, а потом проматываю. Но тут смотрела каждую, не пропуская. Такое у меня редко с какими сериалами случается. Вот "Сыны анархии" еще на ум приходят разве что. И не просто вспомнили, а старались показать это зрителям, которым по-прежнему, как оказалось, подавай "гладиаторские бои" на потребу, хлеба и зрелищ, всякую грязь и хрень. О том, как одна новостная команда боролась и отстаивала свое право называться Журналистами с большой буквы и просто делать свое любимое дело, невзирая на все сложности. Может быть, это идеалистично и утопично, и сейчас в реальной жизни таких новостных агентств уже не осталось все куплено и продано, везде мировой заговор и вообще нас поработили инопланетяне! Мне показалось, что Аарон Соркин воплотил в этом проекте какую-то свою маленькую мечту : Это сериал тонкий, умный, злободневный, эмоциональный, смешной и драматичный. После него ничего не хочется смотреть какое-то время, чтобы не испортить послевкусие. После финальных титров хочется просто посидеть, замерев, в тишине, и чтобы никто и ничто не вторгалось в это еще звенящее и не остывшее пространство.
