After discovering that his father is still alive, Gon decides to go on a journey to find him and, to do so, trains to become a Hunter, individually licensed to track secret treasures, fugitives, and other things or people. To become a Hunter, One needs to pass the Hunter Exam, a series of challenges that Gon will face to become a hunter. His new friends, three other hunters-to-be, help him through the journey even though they each have their own reasons for wanting to take the exam.
