Да и неопределенная ситуация в «Вашингтоне» со своими игроками делает его приезд пока нежелательным. Дальше все зависит только от Евгения: если он будет хорошо кушать, много готовиться и окончательно адаптируется к игре против взрослых в КХЛ, то его можно через год ждать сразу в основном составе «Кэпиталс». Дальше — крайний форвард второго или третьего звена, а потом постепенно вверх, вплоть до третьего места в звене Овечкина и Бэкстрема. Пределов для него нет, главное — продолжать работать и совершенствоваться. К Сочи-2014 как раз может стать одним из лучших. Зато рослый Галиев приучился работать на команду и адаптировался окончательно в Северной Америке, непринужденно разговаривает по-английски. У большинства скаутов и экспертов Станислав входил в топ-30 или хотя бы топ-40 до драфта.

Heiskanen is significantly better defensively, playing 25-plus minutes in both of his playoff campaigns. He is incredibly efficient at stunting offense with his body and stick. The Stars will be content having picked Heiskanen third. He is a terrific playmaker — he ranked 10th in assists-per-60 last season — and his tireless work ethic makes him difficult to play against.
He never stops competing, winning pucks and generating chances for his teammates. He has shown some flair this season, too. Passing by Robert Thomas has been so nice this season pic. He has an elusive release and picks corners with ease. He should feast on weak matchups as a second-line center this year. In his final year of junior, he carried the Guelph Storm to the Memorial Cup with 42 points in 24 playoff games. In the NHL, he has continued to produce at an impressive rate and has shown he can run a powerplay.
Some have given up on him, but if he remains healthy he can still reach his potential. His frame means he can win pick battles and maintain possession, and his quick hands and creativity mean he can create chances. He is just as good as a setup man or a finisher. If he can round out his game and start to make the simple plays more consistently, he may end up higher on this list. However, the players above him have been more effective thus far. Standing at six-foot-three, 200 pounds, he is most effective below the hash marks where he can dictate play with his size, shot and vision. He also possesses a powerful release, making him a well-rounded threat.
This season we will see whether or not Vilardi can fully recover from the injuries that have plagued his career thus far.
He may struggle to reach his ceiling on an Avalanche team that already has Makar and Samuel Girard as offensive options on the blue line, with Bowen Byram on the way, but I still think he has the other tools he needs to be a regular contributor on a contending team. I was a big fan in his draft year, even as he battled mono and things got away from him a little. And while his defensive game and decision making once his biggest weaknesses have become strengths since then, I have grown increasingly concerned with his skating. It could limit his obvious upside as a result. Advertisement 26. Despite being big, he plays a small ish game. He plays at his own pace, he plays with finesse and touch and he makes plays. I fully expect him to become an impact option in the middle-six for the Stars at even strength while helping out on one of the power-play units.
I was surprised when he fell to the fifth round in 2017 and I think that has proven to be true ever since. So when he became one of the best players in college hockey as a sophomore, he was really more like a junior or senior. When he plays hard and fast and disciplined with and without the puck , he can be a menacing, impactful shift-to-shift player. Does he have unique skills on deflections and tips in front? Does he handle the puck well for a player his size to help in small areas rather than limiting him to a chip-and-chase cycle game? I think that will be proven true for Rasmussen even if he becomes a contributing third-line player, which I suspect he will. Note: The wins green and losses yellow are measured by the proximity of my board versus the actual NHL draft order, relative to the re-draft. Whether you qualify my ranking in 2017 as a success probably depends on how you measure it. My board had more wins and fewer misses than the actual draft order, by a margin of 16-13 wins and 8-10 misses.
But my losses also skewed toward the top of the draft and you probably noticed a lot of yellow atop my board. The first was having Patrick ahead of Hischier. The second, and more egregious, was having Mittelstadt at No. And the third was a big swing and potential miss on Eeli Tolvanen at No. Advertisement Still, a closer look at the rest of the draft reveals that I outperformed NHL clubs in the back half of the first round, as well as with the majority four of six of the late-round risers Batherson, Elvenes, Bemstrom and Farrance. In the last expansion draft, the teams could either exclude nine forwards, five defenders and one goalkeeper or seven forwards, three defenders and two goalkeepers from the selection process.
