Доля нелинейности в сюжетах всё-таки есть, но касается она в основном только выбора любовного интереса. Несмотря на количество и разнообразие историй, их можно условно поделить на две группы. Первая — невероятно унылое чтиво, по ощущениям похожее на визит в тематический парк, посвящённый заезженным штампам из романтических фильмов. Простушка приехала в Голливуд, героиня-хореограф встречает группу горячих танцоров, студентка неожиданно попадает в королевскую семью… Надежды на хорошую историю тают уже во время чтения аннотаций, а дальнейшее содержание новелл лишь усугубляет эффект: в них найдётся буквально всё, за что принято ругать бульварные романы. Невыносимые диалоги, топорно написанные персонажи, бесконечные пассажи типа «в его взгляде читается X с примесью Y».
