Так что, при правильном подходе в системе Будро обязательно найдется место для талантливого и работящего форварда-универсала, вопрос лишь в том, потянет ли он в одной из сильнейших команд мира роль форварда в звене, скажем, Семин-Кузнецов-Галиев. Yes, he was. Yes, there were. I was impressed by his hands in traffic and his ability to turn nothing into something. And I was prepared to overlook concerns of tempo and athleticism.
This is one of my bigger misses ever. But he has handled it extremely well. The offensive tools are always going to be there. His defensive game and strength, particularly after all of the time he missed, took a little longer to adjust to the AHL.
But he really began to hit his stride in the back half of this season, with 11 points in his last 13 AHL games.

Poor upper-body strength results at the recent combine notwithstanding , Mittelstadt is capable of logging massive minutes, shouldering top-line center responsibilities and producing no matter how much attention he gets from opposing coaches. Swiss star Nico Hischier of the Halifax Mooseheads in the Quebec League is both smart and skilled enough to go first overall, as he led all CHL rookies in scoring and carried a thin roster to the postseason. Playing center with a wiry frame is perfectly normal in major junior, but Hischier will need to fill out before competing and succeeding against the bigger pivots in the NHL. The biggest riser in the first round is a kid who continued to prove me wrong all season. It may seem as though sublime defender Cale Makar from the Brooks Bandits is simply a flavor-of-the-month kind of prospect because of the way he crushed a lesser-known league like the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
Of these, in turn, six teams Arizona, Florida, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Jersey and Pittsburgh protected four defenders and four attackers, only the New York Islanders chose five defenders and only three strikers. Regardless of the official lists, however, all teams can agree on barter deals with the Golden Knights and give them additional players or draft options if certain players are selected or not selected in the Expansion Draft. Compared to the NHL Expansion Draft 2000 , the number of protectable players is many times lower because the league wants to ensure the competitiveness of the new team. In the season leading up to the draft Heiskanen excelled playing against grown men for Helsinki as he recorded 11 goals and 23 points in just 30 games in his second season for the club. These numbers were good enough for 24th among all defenseman but Miro had done it having played 30 less games than most of the players on this list who all happened to be 21 years of age and older. He would go on to play in all 82 games while consistently playing well north of 20 minutes per games as a 19 year old. Miro would go on to finish fourth in Calder voting that season behind eventual Calder Memorial winner Elias Petterson, 2019 Stanley Cup winner Jordon Binnington, and 2018 first overall pick Rasmus Dahlin. In 150 career NHL games, Heiskanen as amassed 20 goals and 68 points in 150 regular season games played and will be a stalwart on the Dallas blue line for many years to come. Out of the top five players selected in this draft, Makar was the only one who played NCAA where he tallied 21 goals and 70 points in 75 games played for the University of Massachusetts.
