Step 2 — Choose your area In the search bar located in the upper part, you can search for the location of interest, in my case, Ozun. Step 3 — Choose your sensor Flood mapping can be done using any sensor, but since flood is caused by rain and rain means clouds, traditional mapping of the affected area is performed using radar sensors. Since recently, LandViewer started to support Sentinel 1 among a great variety of optical sensors and I had to try that. Внизу левой панели задаем диапазон дат. Под номером 1 на скриншоте находится наша выделенная область. Номер 2 — это выбранные нами спутники, которые будут служить источниками данных.
Номер 3 указывает на выбранный нами диапазон дат: именно в этом диапазоне сервис и будет искать полученные данные со спутников. Номер 4 — это кнопка, которая запускает поиск. На нее необходимо нажать после того, как будут выбраны все остальные параметры.
Когда все готово — кликаем на нее. Как видим, сервис отобрал снимки, которые пересекаются с выбранной нами областью или находятся рядом. Превью изображений отображаются в окне слева.
При наведении на них курсора, они подсвечиваются на самой карте. Таким образом нам прекрасно видно, куда ложится выбранный нами космоснимок: Как видно, космоснимки 1-е, 2-е за 17 сентября 2023 года попадают на интересующую нас область, но земная поверхность закрыта облаками, поэтому лучше поискать еще. Вот, к примеру, нашлись качественные изображения — есть снимки за 12 сентября 2023 года.
Давайте возьмем снимок с номером 4 и нажмем кнопку Visualize. Таким образом, мы спроецировали космоснимок на карту. В левой панели вы можете видеть, что выбран спектр True color - реальные цвета.
Это привычная нам картина, но давайте приблизим нашу выбранную область и выберем, например, спектр NDWI — нормализованный разностный индекс воды съемка для диапазона осуществляется в коротковолновом инфракрасном диапазоне; вода способна поглощать ближние инфракрасные волны, за счет этого можно выделять контуры водных объектов и влажных почв. Сравните: на верхней картинке интересующая нас область в True color, а ниже та же самая область в NDWI. Как видите, на нижнем скриншоте можно, как минимум, детальнее рассмотреть водные объекты и их очертания Давайте сравним этот снимок с изображением за другую дату.
Для начала необходимо добавить снимок к сравнению — для этого нажмем на соответствующую кнопку. После этого необходимо выбрать другой космоснимок и добавить его к сравнению. Во вкладке Compare номер 1 на рисунке находятся выбранные нами космоснимки для сравнения.
У этих космоснимков есть ползунки номер 2 , с помощью которых можно настроить отображение космоснимков. Верхний космоснимок перекрывает нижний. Слева находится верхний космоснимок за 23 августа, а справа - за 12 сентября.
Между ними, для наглядности, специально был оставлен просвет для лучшего понимания работы ползунков. Также можно сравнивать космоснимки в разных спектрах.
Статьи Sentinel-2A, 2B — Проект Европейского космического агентства ЕКА Sentinel, оснащен оптико-электронным мультиспектральным сенсором для съемок с разрешением от 10 до 60 м в видимой, ближней инфракрасной VNIR и коротковолновой инфракрасной SWIR зонах спектра, включающих в себя 13 спектральных каналов, что гарантирует отображение различий в состоянии растительности, в том числе и временные изменения, а также сводит к минимуму влияние на качество съемки атмосферы. Орбита высотой в среднем 785 км, наличие в миссии двух спутников позволяет проводить повторные съемки каждые 5 дней на экваторе и каждые 2—3 дня в средних широтах.

This has opened the door for Sentinel Playground, a web application giving access to complete global Sentinel-2 archive to anyone. Something, that a few years ago could be only built by a company like Google. After winning the Copernicus Masters award, a recognition of Sentinel Hub — the service for processing and distribution of satellite data — reached a tipping point and other application developers, who struggled trying to use free and open Copernicus data, started coming. Although Sinergise was founded in 2008, the story of the Sentinel Hub started a couple of years later. Working with public institutions in Europe, Africa and Asia, Sinergise was keenly promoting potential of on-going monitoring based on Sentinel-2 data even before the satellite was launched. However, it quickly became apparent that using existing technology for pre-processing of raster data, the task was too costly, both from infrastructure and maintenance point of view.
A small group of engineers decided to do the unthinkable — to build a system from scratch. And it worked. Unbound from limitations of 3rd party software they could tweak and re-tweak each part of the puzzle until it worked fast enough. Amazon lent an ear for storage and together they have established Sentinel-2 Open Public Dataset. A combination makes it possible to process majority of requests in under a second — querying a database with millions of entries to select appropriate scenes, downloading relevant data from peta-byte archive, decompressing, compositing, re-projection and more. Quite an unthinkable. Today, Sentinel Hub is empowering application developers around the world building EO-based applications. It is a payable service, but users have quickly realised that it is much more cost effective to pay a small amount every month than to develop and maintain the system by them.
It is opening the doors for machine learning and helping hundreds of application developers worldwide. It makes Sentinel, Landsat, and other Earth observation imagery easily accessible for browsing, visualization, and analysis.
