While using the new Toposolid, you can cut this solid with other elements, such as Walls, Floors, etc. As a result, the graphics inside the view will now show correctly. This method can be more complex and time-consuming, but allows you to create any shape you want.
Resize All Schedule Rows When a schedule on a sheet is selected, there are now a few options in the Properties Palette to control the row height and rotation on the sheet. Selection of All for Resize Rows makes the row height consistent. Figure 12. New options in in the Properties Palette for schedules placed on sheets. Schedule Revision Clouds Revision clouds can now be scheduled. This includes the ability to schedule related information such as the sheet or view name that the cloud is placed on. Figure 13. Open Sheet Directly from View If a view is placed on a sheet, that sheet can now be opened quickly via right-clicking within the view and selecting Open Sheet as shown here.

Place Multiple Views and Schedules Multiple selected views and schedules can be dragged from the Project Browser onto a sheet. These are spaced out sufficiently so they do not overlap, but they likely require manual adjustment once placed. It is also possible to drag views from one sheet to another within the Project Browser as shown in Figure 16, in which case the views are positioned in the same location. Figure 15. Example of a dialog enhanced to be resizable. Sorting of Project Parameters in Properties Project parameters are now sorted alphanumerically in the instance and type properties dialogs. Family parameters are unchanged from previous behavior. Architectural The architectural discipline has several new features and will make a lot of architects and designers happy. Of course, we will all have wishlist items not found in the update.

Sun settings on ribbon When running a solar study, the sun settings are now presented on the ribbon as shown below. Clicking the sun setting button opens the traditional sun settings dialog with the same settings. Another enhancement includes the ability to select much shorter time increment options. Figure 22. Use the Bring to Front or Send to Back buttons to re-arrange the draw order. The visual behavior is fixed and acts correctly now in the family, project, and when printing in Vector or Raster mode. You are now allowed to select multiple views and schedules from within the Project Browser and drag them onto a sheet. Select multiple Views or Schedules by holding the CTRL button The views will be arranged automatically so they do not interfere with each other.
As the order is depending on your Browser Organization, it can still require you to do some adjustments, but it still saves you a lot of clicking and dragging. The Open Sheet function allows you to quickly open the sheet where the view is placed on. With Resize Rows to All, you can set a specific height, and all rows will be adjusted to that height. New options for Schedules that are placed on a sheet Wrapping Up Revit 2024 comes with a lot of nice new features and enhancements which are listed here above. The most notable change is the newly added Toposolid feature that replaces the old Toposurface. This requires you to spend some time exploring how this works.
Overall, Revit 2024 looks fresh with its revamped and modernized user interface, making it also easier to navigate. The new features will improve your workflow to be more efficient and save you some time, such as placing multiple views and schedules onto sheets. In Revit 2024: Each toposolid type can have different kinds of topography contours. In the type properties of a toposolid, you need to click on Contour Display. You can decide to have a toposolid type with lots of contours. However, the contours are not visible when editing the points. And maybe you want a water toposolid without any contours.
In this example, the toposolid is cut to accommodate the foundation wall and footing. The volume of the toposolid accurately reflects the substraction of the these elements. This can be use to create curbs. You cannot use this tool on subdivisions, or on very complex shapes. If someone from Autodesk is reading: please fix this! It would be great to place the slab edges on sub-division. Meanwhile, you can use the railings tool to create curbs. Since toposolids are similar to floors, you can switch the composition entirely and have lakes, concrete pads, and other site components while keeping the original topography points.
Be careful, though. You can use them on the new toposolid category. In Revit 2024: You can use the same Graded Region tool on toposolid. These are quite helpful. Be careful: Apparently, these values are not always accurate. If the sketch boundaries of the new toposolid are different, the calculated volumes will not be correct. Activate the preview this way: You can see the difference when the option is active.

What's New in Autodesk Revit 2024
Reinforcement Let us begin with the new features and updates with reinforcement. I will begin with the Bending Details which will be especially useful for non-standard rebar shapes. Here in the UK United Kingdom we only tend to detail non-standard shapes and only show these details in the bending schedule, but I know that other countries have a requirement for bending details on all rebar. Bending Details are created as true vector geometry and, as such, will update and change automatically if the host rebar is amended. Bending details can be placed in views by selecting the reinforcement bar and then selecting the Bending Detail command from the context ribbon.
The detail can then be placed in a free location, or you can use the Align to Bar command to keep the detail orthogonal. The Bending Detail is driven by standard Revit Type properties and, as such, you can have multiple types that you can use in different situations. The Bending Details also make use of Revit dimension styles so you will need to setup a couple of dimension styles to support the Bending Detail tools. You can also configure the amount of detail that is displayed within the bending detail.
For example, you could simply show the segment length dimensions or recover all the dimensions and angles for each segment as well as hooks and linear dimensions. There are also a few options around the unfolding or offsetting of Bending Details. When you have shapes such as links that overlap it could be confusing when showing lengths and angles of the hooks. These 3 configurations are shown in the image below using a standard link.
Currently, the Bending Details cannot be tagged but I am sure that Autodesk will add this functionality in future releases. The bending details could also become a solution for certain detailing conventions such as tick and tag in sectional views and the display of bars in plan. Bending Details in Schedules The Bending Details can also be used in schedules which is especially useful for non-standard shape codes. It is worth noting that you will only see the shape once the schedule is placed onto a sheet.
Again, in many other regions and countries, shape codes are always shown in the schedule regardless. In the example below, Bending Details are shown in the bending schedule with the new auto size option for rows with images. In the above image, the segment names are displayed to reduce the amount of space required but you can also configure the Bending Details specifically for use within schedules. Here in the UK, it would only be necessary to show the bending sketch for non-standard shapes so it would be useful to see a feature where you could control which shape codes use the new Bending Detail and display on the schedule.
Again, this is the first iteration, and I am sure we will see other additions to this new feature in future releases. We will now look at a feature that was released in Revit 2023.
But, overall this is a really nice feature and a time saver. Resize All Schedule Rows We always like seeing schedule updates in new Revit releases and this one is a nice one. Revit has added the ability to resize all rows in a schedule.
This is going to be nice to quickly adjust the height of the rows all at once. One thing we did notice when we first turned on the feature for All rows is that it took the height of the smallest row in the schedule. In our case, it looked like nothing happened as the rows with larger heights were still the same size as before. A Color Book is a library or book of premade colors that can be quickly added to your material. The new button has replaced the Pantone button on the Color window, but the nice thing is they added all the Pantone colors as Color Books so you will not lose anything.
The one thing we do hope they add soon is a search bar in the Color Books window. They do have a Color field but we have found that you have to be pretty specific for it to work. The nice thing about Color Books is that there are some available out there to download and use since they have been around for so long. Search in Project Browser Once you use this new feature you will wonder what took Autodesk so long to add it. In the Project Browser box, you will see at the top a Search bar.
This will allow you to search anything in this property box, incluing all the views, schedules, sheets, families, groups, Revit Links, and basically anything else loaded into the project. The search is super responsive — it will start the search as soon as you start typing and is pretty fast and smooth. Open Sheet Directly from Drawing Area In the last few years, Revit has added more connections between views and sheets. This year they added another one with the Open Sheet command. If you click on that it will open the sheet the view is placed on.

Открыл первое попавшееся семейство — точки подключения умывальника. Добавил вложенное семейство в категории «Элементы узлов», нарисовал символическую линию и область штриховки. Если дисциплина инженерная, Сантехника, Механизмы или Электросети, то в параметре «Показать невидимые линии» должно стоять «Нет», иначе всё просвечивает. Вот только есть незадача: при таком выборе не будет видно оси труб, а нам они нужны. Если на дисциплине «Координация» выбрать «Нет» или «По категории», то результат одинаковый: оси не видно, но и не просвечивает, всё как на первом скриншоте ниже.
Если при «Координации» выбрать «Все», то оси видно, само УГО отрисовывается в нужном порядке, но при этом ещё в стиле невидимых линий отображается основная геометрия семейства. Оформить план красиво по-прежнему нельзя. Всё-таки Ревит 2019 — великолепен. Именно в этой версии я создаю свои платные семейства, с которыми можете ознакомиться в моём магазине. Спецификация пометочных облаков Теперь можно создавать спецификацию на пометочные облака — облачка для выделения изменений. В спецификацию можно добавлять как параметры самих облаков, так и параметры из окна «Изменения», свойства видов, листов и сведения о проекте. Выбор полей для спецификации Пример спецификации Пример спецификации Как видите, можно неплохо так настроить спецификацию пометочных облаков, чтобы фиксировать изменения на листах. Если когда-нибудь шаблоны АДСК выйдут для Ревита 2024, то как знать, может, сделаем именно такой вариант внесения изменений.
Есть у спецификации минус — подпись, она у меня сейчас сделана в виде параметра с типом данных «Изображение», масштабируется под высоту строки. Поэтому, если делать высоту 5 мм, то изображение становится слишком мелким. В общем, спецификация интересная, нужно изучить подробнее. Если поскрывать границы и настроить высоту так, чтобы изображение выглядело внятно, то можно получить вот такое: Линии нарисовал линиями детализации, так как в тестовом проекте не было штампов АДСК Линии нарисовал линиями детализации, так как в тестовом проекте не было штампов АДСК Высота строки в спецификации После размещения спецификации на листе она преобразуется в графику спецификаций: набор линий и текста. И теперь у этой графики можно настроить высоту строки. Есть три варианта на выбор: Нет — то есть работать, как и раньше, подбирать высоту по высоте и длине текста в ячейке; Все — задать всем строкам минимальную высоту, но если какой-то текст не влез по длине и переносится, то высота строки тоже увеличивается, а изображения масштабируются при изменении ширины столбца; Строки изображения — если в спецификации несколько строк, и в каких-то есть изображения, то строки с изображениями будут не выше указанного значения, остальные — адаптируются по размеру и длине текста. Это БИМ, сударыня. Работа с координационными моделями Так называют в справке модели Нэвисворкса, подгруженные в Ревит.
Теперь можно включить точки привязки к элементам этих моделей и ловить их на плоских видах и на 3Д. Кроме того, при выделении элемента в такой модели, можно увидеть свойства элемента, но только для той, что подгружена из облака. Динамо 2. Подробно останавливаться не буду, не работал с Динамо в 2023 Ревите, сравнить будет сложно.

Toposurface have been killed and replaced by Toposolid. The Subregion tool has been replaced by Sub-Divide. The way you create site elements is completely different. The following pages are going to cover these significant changes. What if floors and toposurfaces had a baby together? The new toposolid tool works in a very similar way to floors.
First, you need to sketch an extrusion boundary with purple lines. Then, you can modify the Sub Elements in a similar way to Roofs and Floors. Add points at specific heights to create the slopes. The points contextual menu is a bit different from the standard floors and roofs you are used to. This new menu has actually been available since Revit 2023. When adding a point, you can either pick Along Surface or Absolute Height.
This tool now works with concave site shapes. Again, the new toposolid tool is similar to floors. You can modify the structure with materials of various thicknesses. That means you can create fun site elements such as lakes without using floors.
This feature greatly simplifies the integration of 3D CAD data into BIM models, promoting collaborative work across different platforms. Dynamo for Revit 2.
